Suspensors

In the first book, Paul notices that the Fremen don't use suspensors to travel. He thinks it could be because it attracts worms like a sheild, but the appendeces say nothing about it and the book doesn't eleaborate on the subject. Does anyone know if it does?

Wasn't it Jessica who notices that? Anyway she said that because suspeders use the holzman effect to power them same as a shield. I think Nema or another could explain it in depth however.
