The concept of it makes sense, however I cannot believe that Westwood would not have addressed such a fundamental basic issue regarding online play.

LOL at emp's niavety ;). Let me share a secret wit ya emp. WW has known about this for years, they just don't want to fix it. Want another good secret, WW's games, unlike microsoft software, are mostly backwards compatible, so if you get a cheat that works on one, it works on all :O :O.

You, emp, were attacked by a version of the Rocket_Nuke_V## program. It's small, 182kb, only takes like a half second to run, and works like a charm. Here's the text instructions for the modem version of the program, basically obselete now, i removed any scripts and whatnot that would actually allow someone to use these instructions, so don't worry, it's only for info purposes:

Rocket v1.0 instructions

1)The first thing to do if you want this 'nuker' to work is add #####

string in your modems init its very easy follow step-step instructions

Help for the string:

1)Press "Start" at the bottom left

2)Go to "settings"

3)Click "Control Panel"

4)In the "control panel" click "Modems"

5)Choose your modem and press "Properties"

6)Go to the "Connection" tab

7)Click the "Advanced" button

Final: 8)In the "Extra Settings" type ##### and press ok

2)Why to do all that?

Rocket v1.0 is a program that sends the ###### command to a computer

The ###### command is the command that modems use to disconnect from

the internet,with this string (######) your PC doesnt reply to any

####### commands trough the net so you are safe to use it.If you dont

add the ######## string and you are using a modem you will disconnect

yourself everytime you try to "nuke" someone with it.

WSE has been telling members about this program and others like it since the sites creation, we have whole sections on this stuff in our forums and main page. This is a perfect example of a program that WW could fix in maybe 2 man hours max, but refuses to exert themselves on. And what i said about backwards compatible is really true, that program was made for Tiberian Sun, but it works just as well on EBFD.

I should also note that there are later versions of the same program that work just as well for cable and dsl. What you heard about ppl disconnecting for a second from the internet with cable or dsl is probably a case of someone using Rocket to do it

if he himself was blowing up, he wouldnt be having troopers there cause when you blow up, you lose all your units. also, if he was blowing up, how would he be able to see the red lines from the troopers?
