test.lit file problems and the Giedi Prime lighting script

I just finished creating a large Giedi Prime map and I can't figure out how to create the test.lit file. I ran Shadowmaker and Washcompressor but ended up without the test.lit file which should have been created when I gave the map the Giedi Prime colourwash. So I substituted the file for the Giediprimetest.lit file in the Data/Lighting folder of the MapEditor, and then renamed it to test.lit. The map ran fine with the Giedi Prime colours when I tested it, but I'm not sure that the map will be ok for distribution. Is there a way, and should I make the test.lit file the normal way? For some reason it just wasn't created when I ran the Shadowmaker and gave the map the colourwash of the Giedi Prime script, and I don't know why. ???

I thought that was the case, but then I looked at the properties of the test.lit file for the map "Harko City Starport II" and the file size and the modification date were different. Which means that that particular test.lit file must have been created rather than taking a file and renaming it. So what's happening in that case? ???

But the content of the file would determine the creation and modification dates, because then a test.lit file would be created and used for a specific map. If the creation of the test.lit file in the Shadowmaking/Colourwash process is just a simple matter of a program moving and renaming another file (meaning that that file has not been modified for use with a particular map), then I cannot understand how the modification/creation dates of the various test.lit files for the Giedi Prime lighting script (or any shadow script for that matter), can be different. The test.lit file for "Harko City Starport II" (another Giedi Prime map with the same colourwash/lighting script) should have the same creation and modifcation date as the one for "Boiler", which is another Giedi Prime map with the Giedi Prime lighting script. This is not the case. :P ???

It probably doesn't just rename it, it would read the file into memory and then rewrite it to the right folder. Believe I've talked to Stealth the guy who wrote Map Packer about this same problem and as far as we can tell it doesn't matter if you just place the file there yourself.
