Planet Dune has gotten an interview with Aaron Cohen from Westwood, since we are not allowed to post the transcrpit here I have summarized it for you:

  • New in-game screenshots are coming soon
  • Ornithopters will act a lot like MIG's in Red Alert
  • You can control what your turrets fire at
  • Not likely to go DVD as it fits on two CD's
  • No plans for a Dune 3, maybe though
  • No capture the flag in skirmish mode
  • There will be a skirmish mode to practice in
  • No plans for an expansion set, yet, depends on the fans
  • Three skill levels: easy, medium, and hard
  • There will be screen hot keys so you can jump to saved locations
  • Harkonnen have a Mammoth Tank(Devastator) and heavier firepower in general
  • There will be a guard mode
  • No APC's because they wanted to keep it like the original
  • Walls will stop bullets
  • No ecological events in missions, ie inside a Sand Worm
  • Unique ending for each side
  • The ice seen in this screenshot will not be in the final game
  • Sonic blasts can travel over cliffs but not hit aircraft
  • Missile Tanks will be fairly accurate

Well that was what we were waiting for, by the way, if you still have questions after this send them to us to get answered when a member of the Underground visits Westwood. Go to the Message Board to post them.
