Release Dates

I have been getting a lot of questions recently about the Release and Gold dates and what exactly is going on. Westwood has continously said they will not release the game until it's ready, once they have a completed version they send off a master version of the game, commonly known as, "going gold." At that point they send it off to be mass produced and packaged, etc and after that delays are unlikely unless a major bug is found that has to be fixed. The release date, is usually about a week after the gold date and will vary world-wide. Many stores have been setting the release date at August 26th, that would be the date it is available for sale. Now if all goes according to plan you can expect the game to be released in mid-August, which was what we last heard from Westwood.
