The October issue of the Westwood Newsletter is out, there is a brief caption on Dune 2000. It mentions something about "new features" being released with the patch, seen below. Also mentions that the release date for the patch should be found soon, but they have been saying that for a while now...

Westwood Studios has just announced an update for DUNE 2000 which will have a few requested features and significantly increases the speed of multiplayer games over the Internet. Please watch http://www.dune2000.com for the exact date of release!
