What is the dominating religion in the Dune novels?

Like it is christianity now, but whats in Dune?

The Orange Catholic religion is the "main" religion. There are others like Zensunni. The OC Bible was made from Christianity, Buddhism, and some others that I can't remember.

*P.S. Christianity isn't the dominating religion now, but no religion bickering ;)*

Okey, I will not coment on the christianity thing.

But are there christians in Dune, or only OC worsipers.

I don't think that Herbert makes any direct references to Christianity as we know it now, He does however have members of the Jewish faith in his books, the last couple if memory serves.

There was a huge thread on it not so long ago... It's in page 2 or 3 of the list. The first 40 or so posts were useful... the rest started to become a debate on religion, so the main religion thread itself was started.

That's what I wanted to say...

The OCB is: the "Accumulated Book" the religious text produced by the Commission of Ecumenical Translators. It contains elements of most ancient religions, including the Maometh Saari, Mahayana Christianity, Zensunni Catholicism and Buddislamic translations. (this was from the Terminology of the Imperium from Dune)

There's a whole appendix on religion at the back of Dune anyway.

I have read that Appendix. It explained very much, but not everything.
