I was checking out the new company, 7 Studios, that was started by a bunch of guys over at Westwood. They have a section called ask Erik where various people could send questions in and noticed a few about Dune, its nice to see everyone agrees that the Dune universe is a great place for games.

Hey, quick question: Will you make any Dune based RTS games? I suggest you should cause they rock. Thanks!

"Actually, Westwood already owns the Dune license so it's pretty unlikely we would every be able to do one. Good suggestion though. I agree, the Dune universe rocks."

Is there anyway you can purchase the dune liscence from Westwood and make a Dune RTS game? After all, Dune is, what I think, the best setting for a RTS game. Do as much as you can to buy it from them. Thanks!

"I dunno if we could purchase the Dune license from Westwood/Herbert estate. It's not real high on our list of things to do. We have a number of ideas of our own that we think make for a cool game universe. Thanks for the suggestion though."
