I played a game using some user created maps with Shiroko today, well ATGP was there for a bit too. Anyway we figured out a lot from the experience. The game recognizes maps by what the filename is. So when you download the maps from the site don't rename them. When you activate the maps using one of the map editors you can name the map whatever you want for the ingame list. Confused? Well here is a step-by-step process of getting new maps:

1. Head to the maps page to download the map of your choice.

2. Get a program, like WinZip and extract the map into your Dune2000Datamaps directory.

3. Use your map editor's activation program to add the map to the game.

4. Feel free to choose any name for the map but try to keep it relatively the same so you know you have it when someone asks, do you have such and such map?

5. Load up Dune 2000 and choose either Internet or Practice mode and test out your favourite map.

If you have problems feel free to contact me, I will be posting some more maps in a few minutes, including some updates to current maps.
