I asked Aaron Cohen a few questions regarding everything from Dune 2 up to the soon to be released PSX game, check them out below, with my comments of course :)

Gob: Does Westwood still sell Dune 2 and if so where is it available?

Aaron: As for Dune II, it is tough to find and we aren't printing them. It is a DOS game and getting it to run on a new machine with WIN98 is difficult if not impossible, depending on your computer. The tech support would be a nightmare and there would be a lot of angry people. In fact, one of reasons we built Dune 2000 was because there were so many fans of Dune 2 that weren't able to play the game anymore.

I agree with him on this, Dune 2 would cause a lot of problems because of the newer hardware found in systems today. It is possible to find the game, I saw it once a few years ago in a bargain bin and I believe it's much easier to find in Europe. If you are looking for Dune 2 there are other options, like Super Dune 2 or the Dune 2 project that was mentioned yesterday when its released.

Gob: How has Dune 2000 has sold, I know it probably hasn't meet the same levels the Command & Conquer series has but I would expect it to still have done quite well.

Aaron: Dune 2000 sold well, about 500,000 units around the world. That's a little more than what we projected.

That is certainly a lot for a game that never really went over well with some of the mainstream review sites, for example Red Alert has sold about 870,000 according to the latest PCData information.

Gob: How is the release date looking for the PSX version, should we expect it in stores within a week or more likely late November?

Aaron: Dune 2000 will be on store shelves very soon, probably another week or so.

Personally I can't wait to give the game a try, I'll try to post reviews and such once they start arriving, let me know if I miss any.

Thanks to Aaron Cohen for answering these questions!
