Stuart has sent me the latest updates to his Melange article. Updates below:

Index:

- Made the Proposal a little more clear.

MainMenu:

- Fixed some formatting problems in the cinematic

scripts.

Interface:

- Established more logical conventions for keyboard commands. Alt+key combinations for right-clicks and other alternate uses of a key, and Shift+key for "check-ups" or anything that involves moving the screen to a specified location temporarily. Ctrl+key sets or creates.

Arrakis:

- Made the Ordos Napalm Turret ... well, actually shoot napalm.

- Added a Pillbox, similar in functionality to Starcraft's Terran Bunker. Updated the Structure Hierarchies and references appropriately.

Unit:

- Re-ordered the veterancy ranks. The progression is now Private (pitiful standard grunt), Corporal (gains Self-Heal ability), Sergeant (might gain a Unit-specific ability), Captain (Officer ability -- increases morale of nearby Units), Colonel (Commando rank).

- The Mine Layer's Caltrops are now a little more useful -- they cumulatively reduce the speed of a Unit that steps on them.

- Veteran Medics can now revive dying team mates.

- The Imperial Sniper can now blend into his surroundings, as long as he stays still and doesn't make too much noise. Sometimes a shot with the Sniper Rifle (a very poor shot, as he's managed to shoot at your legs), will cause a caltrop effect.

- Harkonnen Sappers can now sweep for mines.

- Power-Suited Units can now Feign Death as a special ability.

- Renamed Mortar Squad to Mortar Crew and Compact Missile to Disruption Missile.

- Heavy Ornithopter can now eject chaff to divert incoming missiles.

- Made use of the Carryall a little more intuitive. Took out auto/manual toggling. Carryalls will ferry Vehicles automatically, as in Dune 2000, but you can select a Carryall and direct it to move, pick up a Vehicle, and so on (following the Tiberian Sun model), any time you feel the need. Once it has accomplished your tasks, it will continue to automatically ferry

Vehicles where needed.

- Fixed weapon for Crusher and some formatting issues and typos.
