The Dune RPG in development by LUG should have been released last Friday but it doesn't look like it. There isn't any mention on there web site about it and there is other evidence I found that it may be delayed again to as late as December.

First off is this Swedish website that lists it as being available on December 31st of this year. Now this may be a European release so those in North America and elsewhere may find it released earlier or later. Of course Amazon still has it listed as September 1st.

There is also this post from an RPG store messageboard from Steve Long of LUG:

There were certain legal obstacles to overcome re: Dune, which were NOT Last Unicorn's fault. Unfortunately, when you've got legal obstacles, often you can't talk about them, since that can often cause further problems. That's why we've spent the past eight months saying, "It's not our fault, trust us, but we can't tell you more." :)

As I understand it, all obstacles have been cleared and the DUNE core book and narrator's toolkit should be going to print this week, I think (meaning they'd be available in, oh, 6-8 weeks; we'll keep you posted). Ross may know more since he's right there where all the decisions are being made. I think when you see it, you'll agree with me that it was worth the wait.

Now this was posted back in April so I don't know what has happened since then. I have also heard on the Dune newsgroups that they have decided to use a new system, D20, instead of the one they had built originally. If anyone else has more information let me know in the comments below, but it looks like we will be waiting until December for a release now.
