Mike Bell of Westwood has been posting on the official forum as usual. Check out his latest replies:

Don't count on a full interactive demo coming out before launch. Making a good demo takes alot of resources, which the team cannot commit to yet since they're trying to finish the actual game.

I think you guys should be happy with the amount of diversity going into each side's units. Each main house and subhouse will play and feel very different from the others.

This will create some very interesting tactical situations.

There will be missions aboard Heighliners. Viewing and controlling your units in these missions will not be a problem.

Delphi and myself read just about every post that comes through. We are in constant contact with the designers so they're kept up to speed. They do visit when they have time. Delphi and I are not designers.

Pretty self explanatory, and as usual Westwood won't be releasing a demo until after the game is released.
