Yesterday our partner site CnCR.com reported an article from Daily Radar about the "top games" for the upcoming year, both Renegade and Emperor are listed in the four day feature which officially starts today. Daily Radar posted the Emperor part today and if you want a early look at Renegade's try here.

Most importantly though are two brand new screenshots, one a very cool looking Infantry battle and the other of an Atreides base. On top of that they interview Tim Fritz, associate producer of Emperor, check out a caption below:

DR: Why is your game going to rule the school in 2001?

TF: I think that with our true 3D engine, dynamic missions and diverse units -- all built on the solid Westwood RTS foundation -- Emperor: Battle for Dune will please the fans... and create a few more. Westwood has proven in the past that we can make outstanding RTS games, and we're poised to recapture the genre with this move into 3D. It really is a beautiful game and adds a whole new level of strategy with not only the nonlinear campaign, but also the wide variety of alliances you can create with the three main houses and five subhouses.

That seems like reason enough for me :)

He also mentions that the game has a solid 2001 release date for the rest click here.
