New Video and 3D Image

Blue's News posted about a new video of Emperor and another 3D image that lets you zoom/rotate. The video of Emperor comes in at around 21MB and is also available in streaming video format. Their commentary is a little over the top but at least we get to see some ingame footage and cutscences from a recent press build.

The [ftp=ftp://ftp.westwood.com/pub/emperor/previews/screenshots/DUNEWAR-1.MOV]3D image[/ftp] is fairly good, about 1-2MB in size. It shows a battle between the Atreides and Harkonnen, which includes some Flame Tanks, Devastators, and a number of other units in the Atreides base. Not sure if we will be able to take screenshots like this when the game is released but it would be nice to see a feature similar to it.

Update: Just finished watching the video. If you are interested in the game and don't mind watching the entire Harkonnen cutscene and part of the first mission download it! It is definetly better then Louis Castle video released earlier... well other then the annoying commentary, it is a combination of English and some other language and too loud. Anyway, back to the video. It starts off with the Harkonnen intro and initial cutscene both of which we have seen parts of. Then it commences on to the first Harkonnen campaign mission. The goal is to destroy the Atreides base on the map and they show a number of different features of gameplay including zoom, building things, movement, etc. Basically if you want to see the game in action, watch this, and if you aren't impressed... well something is wrong with you. :)

Update: Westwood has posted a bit about the 3D image on the official site. They will now be releasing similar screenshots every two weeks until the games release showing off different terrains and battle situations.
