Speaking of the official forums Delphi posted a few messages there earlier today. Check out his replies on the pre-order promotion, someone thinking Westwood was hiding units from us before the games release, and the best infantry unit below:

Were not scamming anyone it's a special promotion! :D The units will be available to everyone two weeks after the game ships. And if you lose to some one using just that one unit, you better practice up and read the manual. -LINK

Oh and if you were wondering according to this thread the Deviator "gas" will affect units for about 20 seconds depending on the machine speed.
