Rush was one of the lucky webmasters who got to visit Westwood with me about a week ago now and he has posted up his article covering the event. There are lots of screenshots and videos so it is definitely worth checking out. Here a quote that sums things up nicely:

This trip to Westwood was fantastic and it was great to see how Westwood have progressed onto the 3D RTS. Emperor is not what I expected, it's a lot more polished. One thing that I have always liked about Westwood is that they realise that you don't always have to redefine a genre and change things around just because it's a new game. There are many similarities with Emperor and other Westwood titles but there are also enough changes to make the game feel like a new gameplay experience proving that if it ain't broke, don't change it. Chris Rubyor agreed with me that Tiberian Sun had major flaws hence the reason Red Alert2 brought Westwood back to form and this level of fine tuning is certainly evident in Emperor.

The videos may take a while to download but if you have the time be sure to watch them, some good ingame footage, especially that first one. :)
