Well Emperor week at IGN has come to an end with an article summing up their experience playing the game. Here is a bit explaining some info on the units:

A few new things have been added to the units. The deployment option is still available for some, granting either increased defensive or offensive new formation command has been added but, rather than dynamically changing your units' positions, it merely maintains their relative positions. In other words, you still have to create the formation you want before you can lock the units into it. An arrow icon indicates a height advantage for a unit, allowing you to see who can fire over whom (I nailed that whom, by the way). The new unit halos indicate the health and ammo levels of your various units as well.

Overall a pretty good recap of the game, and check for their review late next week.
