Another update from Dan on tech problems, mainly dealing with what sort of support requests they have gotten so far, check it out below:

I can tell you that there are a few issues we're looking into for a possible patch, but none of them have to do with a crashing/locking problem. I can also tell you that out of several thousand support requests we've recieved since the game shipped, there are only 2 cases (so far) where it can't be fixed:

1) A non-specific problem with some SBLive! sound cards. This accounts for about 30 people. 31 if you count my home machine. We're looking into the problem, but currently have no ETA on a fix.

2) Someone that doesn't meet the minimum system requirements.

I fall in that first group of SB Live! owners, maybe its time for a new soundcard? :)

Does anyone know of any good non-Creative sound cards? Something that would compare to the SB Live! in functionality/price preferably...
