Maurizio de Cesare from Italy let me know some more details about the miniseries. Here is what he passed along:

Monday 30/07/01 on channel Italia 1 at 10,40 PM will be represented the first part of SCIFI's Dune miniseries. Unfortunately in Italy the sci-fi matter is not followed by many people (or Italian TV channels suppose this) therefore a few are informed about this "event".
