I sent some questions over to Cliff a couple of days ago and he was able to reply with answers to half of them. Check them out below:

1. Are there any dates yet, or estimates, for when the map editor and patch will be released?

Cliff - We're looking into it, but no time frame has been announced for the next patch or the map editor at this time.

2. Any details on what the next patch will fix/update. Will there be any outstanding issues left to fix after the next patch?

Cliff - The next patch should resolve all remaining issues that the team plans to fix.

3. What details can you give on the map editor? Does it have an option for taking screenshots? Will there still be a chat session on the basics of the editor as was mentioned earlier on the official messageboards?

Cliff - A chat session on the map editor is still possible, but nothing has been decided.

4. Could you explain how we will add maps to the game? Will it be similar to the map packs where each map has it's own rfh/rfd file and how will maps be activated?

5. Through some tests it seems the game has a limit of only 99 maps, is this true? And if it is, are there plans to allow the game to support more?

6. What do you think the reasons are behind the lower numbers of people playing online compared to older games like Red Alert 2?

Cliff - Emperor has higher system requirements and a bit steeper of a learning curve. Also, Emperor games tend to be a bit longer than RA2 games. It's more a matter of preference than anything, I think.

7. Now that the game has been out for about three months, looking back, are there any changes or things you would have done differently either during or after the games release?

8. Has there been any sales figures released yet on how well the game has done in different parts of the world?

9. If Westwood was to create another Dune game should we expect another RTS or are there other possible genres you might explore?

No Answer

10. The obligatory, is there going to be another Dune game goes here. :)

Cliff - There are no plans at this time, but anything's possible in the future.

I also sent a similar bunch of questions off to Chris Longpre who will hopefully know the answer to those Cliff couldn't answer. Hopefully those will be posted shortly, stay tuned. As Cliff mentioned no date for the map editor or patch has been announced yet, hopefully we will be hearing something soon though, people are starting to get impatient. :)
