joachim let me know that he is working on a program based in Linux that can extract the files from Dune II. It isn't working perfectly yet but you can extract the archives. It can extract cps and shp files but images are not working 100% yet. If you can help him out head over to his site, dune2.de, where you can also download the source code released under the GPL and take a look at what he has done so far.
