Gifts for the Dune Fanatic

Yes, its december, and you know what that means: Christmas shopping. I know, it sucks, but here at FED2K we want to help. Last year, Gobalopper made a list of gifts that any Dune fan would love, and now its time to expand it for 2001. So if you need a gift for a Dune fan, or if your a Dune fan not sure of what to ask for Chirstmas, this post is for you!

First up on our wish list is Frank Herberts Dune, a new Dune game by Cyro, the makers of Dune 1. Over the years many people have been begging for a chance to play a video game as Paul Atreides, and here's your chance! While reactions to the demo were luke warm at best, the previews of the full game have been glowing, including this recent one, which contains spoilers and is not based on the officially released version. The game itswelf is supposedly out today, although Amazon.com still lists it as being released December 7. Either way, it'll be out before Christmas! The price is listed at $29.99 for the PC version, and $49.99 for the Play Station 2 version, which won't be released until January 18.

Next on our list is the third and final novel in the new Dune prequel trilogy, Dune: House Corrino. While it still has many continuity errors, and some scenes don't seem to make a lot of sense, it is the best of the trilogy, and an ok read. It's currently on sale at Amazon.com for $19.99.

It may not have been the bestseller westwood had anticipated, but Emperor: Battle For Dune was still good enough to gain a nomination for Gamespy's Strategy Game of the Year. Its priced at $29.99 at Amazon as well, however ins tores the average price is much more.

The last present we've got for you today is a model Crysknife from David Lynch's Dune, which can be bought at village comics. To see a picture of it, click here. There are two versions of it, one costing $45.00 and the other $125.00.

Thats all for now, I don't know if Gobalopper will be updating the gift list himself when he gets time with any of these articles or his own.
