Some people have gotten some early copies of the special edition DVD of Frank Herberts Dune, and the reviews for it are almost all positive. Some interesting tidbits from people who have seen it: John Harrison spends some time comparing Paul Muad'Dib to Osama Bin Laden, there are about 30 extra minutes worth of scenes (including a whole new semi-subplot dealing with Irulan), and great special features. However, there is no mention of that audio commentary that was supposed to have been spliced together from Frank Herbert interviews.
