Hello,

So i have installed Dune 2000, I downloaded the Gruntmod and copied the Mission Launcher over to where I have Dune installed.

I then copied the DATA folder from the Grunmod folder into my Dune Data folder, overwriting what was there. Dune existing campaign seems to work fine, but when I launch  the MissionLauncher a screen pops up, I select what I want to play, but get the same error, 'Mission not found' states the mission number etc.

What am I doing wrong?

Look forward to some help. Thanks.

OK, scratch the above, I am new here and not sure how to edit the initial post.

So recopied the files and can now  access the mission launcher. I" run as administrator. It seems to load, but just takes me to the Dune 2000 menu, and not the actual mission I choose from the Mission launcher.

I can then play the standard houses, but it seems nothing from the Mission launcher, i.e. new missions are available.

For example run the Mission Launcher as admin, opens the console, select Rise of the mercenaries - select Mission one, then next thing it loads into the standard Dune 2000 menu, The only option I have from there is the standard menu options and to choose a house to play. I was expecting something else, though not sure what beyond being loaded straight into Mission 1 Rise of the Mercenaries .

Thoughts / help welcome.

Thanks

Do you have the mission launcher in the dune game root?
If no, you need to place it there (together with the dune2000.exe file and so on).

Check the file called resources.cfg, open it with the notepad.
it only shows 5 lines with paths, check if those are fine.

if you are using windows 10 you may try this (but not sure if related with your problem)
https://gruntmods.com/dune-2000-windows-10-hotfix/

If nothing wrong, download that dune2000.exe to overwrite yours (you can do a back_up of the one you have just in case).

You shouldn't need anything more else, except maybe the "dune2000config", but that's more if the game doesn't start and you said it does.

Thank you for your prompt response. It worked!!!

After a lengthy response below to say it didn't I followed your advice and a few set back here and there... it worked.

The Mission Launcher handily advised to place in the Dune folder, so I did that and it opens, though the problem remains.

I checked the Config file, not really sure what to look for...

I have the following in the Config file..

data\
movies\
data\music\
missions\
data\maps\

I am using Windows ten but run as Admin to get the launcher to work. IF I do not do this when I click a mission from the launcher it states that I need elevated permission or something like that.

I downloaded the hot fix and got the following files:

dplayx.dll

dpmodemx.dll

dpnathlp.dll

dpwsockx.dll

No idea what that all means but I placed them in the Dune folder - root folder?

I downloaded the Dune2000.exe and placed the in Dune folder this did not seem to work, I just got a new error, but I did not remove the existing exe file.

Image attached of what I have got in the Dune folder at the moment - note the image shows that I had two exe files I removed the original and used the new one after renaming (removing the (1).

I then removed the exe folder so just had the new one recently downloaded,

Ran the launcher again as Admin, select a Mission and hey presto it worked...

I hope the above helps someone else.
