Punt Posted June 6, 2014 Share Posted June 6, 2014 Hi everyone I used to play EBfD years ago on WinXP. Then I built a new PC with Windows 7, and I initially got the game to work on it (but it was a mission). However, eventually the game stopped working, I kept getting an Application Error when trying to run it... and I could never figure out what caused the problem or how to fix it. I tried reformatting, reinstalling, etc, nothing worked. And I gave up. Then, a week ago I installed Windows 8.1 on the same machine. I installed EBfD from my ISO images, installed patch v1.09, and then installed the NoCD patch. AND IT WORKS!! :) I imagine it would also work from the original CD, I see no reason why it wouldn't. (Just in case you're wondering, I do have the original CDs, I just prefer using ISOs to preserve the discs, and I didn't have a CD drive on this PC until recently). So just in case there is someone out there who has lost hope, since Win7 almost killed the Emperor experience, try again on Win 8.1. It's been a life saver for me, and it works without any hassles.
