tank reference in Dune novel

Okay, there is actually a reference to tanks in the Dune novel(just plain Dune - the first one). The Atraides(I think, I havn't read it in a while) are talking about the Fremen, and it said that a small group of three or four fremen was able to take on a Sardaukar(might be Harkonnen artillery, not Sardaukar) mobile artillery unit. so there were tanks/artillery in the book, they just never had a real part in the book.

and about the tanks causing vibrations, that is so, but an army of men would create just as much - if not more vibrations, and would attract worms just as quickly.

Well artillery are in the game and I think the thing we are dealing with now is how much mobility we are going to give them...
