I listened to some interviews this morning where people in Harlem, who said they would vote for Obama were ask questions where McCain's platform was related as belonging to Obama.  The examples they recorded included the question: Are you happy with Obama picking palin as as his VP running mate.  These people answered they approved of Palin being Obama VP as well as the platform being Obama's.  They had no idea what Obama stood for.

Don't worry. There are mindless individuals on both sides. Yesterday I saw a woman tell McCain at a town hall meeting that Obama was a Muslim and he had to correct her by defending Obama. That's a weird thing for an opposing candidate to have to do but both of them have done it.  :)
