Getting RRT2 Gold to run in Win XP SP1

Hi All,

I have managed to install RRT2 but when trying to start the game it gets to the dos window and then just closes, no error messages or anything.  Any ideas?

I have just bought Railroads but it won't run on my desktop sys as the spec is not up to it.  It runs on the laptop though.  Seems OK but have experienced a few problems, crashed a few times, freezes between tasks and recovers after about 10 seconds.

The patch should help with RT2.

RickyReal, I must have installed RT2, over the last two years, four or five times and not once have I had any issues with it not working In XP. What I did every time though is to also install the RT2 Platinum 1.56 patch right away.

So what are you installing it in? XP? WIN98? WIN2000? Furthermore, what version of RT2 are you trying to install? Original? Gold? Platinum?

I read somewhere on the forum before i posted my question, that rrt2 gold didn't need any patches to work on XP.  I will give it a try though.  I am installing it on to Win XP Pro SP1.

No I've never hosted the patches. I figured I'd leave that for here. I gave Ricky the link in my previous post.  ;)

My site has always been there. It was just the forum that got hacked.
