Windows Vista/Dune 2000 display issue

(Starting a new thread as I didn't realise bumping old threads wasn't a good idea).

Hello,

New to this board, but not new to Dune 2000 :) I have two computers, one with XP Pro, and one with Vista Home Premium. The XP machine loads (and plays) the game perfectly. However, with the Vista machine, I get this:

dune.jpg

My laptop is a Compaq Presario V3817AU. Graphics card is a NVIDIA MCP67M. I've tried to get it going under Windows 95/98/XP compatibility modes, I've tried with 256 colours...but nothing seems to work.

Anyone able to offer any advice? I'd love to be able to play this on my laptop.

Thanks in advance :)

hello. ah a compaq presario, thats my old desktop. good times.

anyway, you managed to install it? thats farther then I got, I forced my vista to run dune by extracting the nessary install files from the disc. If you cant get it working, try a virtual machine.

Hi,

Thanks for that. Yep it installed off the CD nicely, and runs fine, but we get the problem above. What's this virtual machine you speak of? Got a URL? :)
