Read this to get the mapeditor working on Vista !

The mapeditor gives an error message under Vista saying that the file d3drm.dll is missing.

The file is part of DirectX 9 and Microsoft didn't included that file in Vista since they focused on DirectX 10 there.

Downloading and installing the full DirectX 9.0c redistributable from Microsoft wont work either.

First you need to download the file from this place:

www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files_new.php/dllfiles/D/d3drm.dll/5.1.2600.0/download.html

Then you need to install the file in this directory in your system (I assume your system hard disk is C:) :

1. For Vista x64 users :

C:WindowsSysWOW64  (tested and works)

2. For Vista x86 users :

C:WindowsSystem32 and run this command from the execute box: regsvr32 d3drm.dll (not tested but should work, someone with Vista x86 please test this).

(if a moderator could sticky this it would be good).

You know, I put the file d3drm.dll in the location of C:OfficialMapEditor->Mapeditor. The C: is my hard drive where the map editor sits. After that, the map editor worked fine in Windows Vista.
