So Medvedev becomes the President of Russia today, and I am reading the Dune Encyclopedia, and what do I see?  Vasili Medvedev 156th Ruler of the Known Universe, who reigned between 4362-4366, and House Medvedev, with 5 votes in the Landraad.

A little off topic, but I just got this idea that over probably 100 years it will be; "He who controls the oceans will be powerful." The amount of energy and materials (deep down) is amazing large.

Incidentally, (Soviet) Russia is known as House Steel, and USA as House Washington, UK as House Windsor, Japan as House Nippon, House Abraham as Israel, House De Gaulle as France (although before I'm guessing the French Revolution it was called House Bourbon, it is not mentioned what it is called in between then, perhaps House Napoleon?), People's Republic of China as House Zedong, House Ghandi (sic) as India, and House Ul-Haq as Pakistan.
