deathand999 Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 i was surprised to see a message from my system showing that win is out of ram and the system was idle. i have 1 gig of ram. moments later i got this message from avg : avg resident shield thread detected : while opening file : c:programfiles/winamp/winampa.exe virus found win32/pep patch i couldn't believe that. i scanned the winamp file and the virus exe was there ..
gryphon Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Winamp is not a virus. Although some Trojans are known to use that file name and mimic winamp.http://www.sophos.com/security/analyses/w32agobotgs.html
