Hey, thanks for the input regarding my previous harddrive problem. Nothing worked unfortunately, so I'm on a new 160g as of now.

Right now, with a fresh installation of Windows XP pro, there's one option that's been annoying me. When I drag/drop an item into another folder, instead of moving it to that folder it moves a copy of the file to that folder, leaving the file in its original folder and in the new folder. How do I change it so that it does not simply make a copy but moves it entirely into the new folder (without having to cut/paste every time)?

You cant, unfortunately. I read about the problem of inconsistent application of Drag-and-Drop a while ago on some website  nad have since been a lot more aware of it. Just use the RIGHT mouse button to do the draggin' ana droppin'. It will give you an option to either Move, Copy or create Shortcut. The defualt behaviour is highlighted.

Alternative, you can uyse the Ctrl, Alt or Shift Keys while still holding the left mouse button to do any one of those actions.

Hope that helps.
