MrFlibble Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Well, I've bought Alien Trilogy recently, and I've got the following problem: in Windows, the game runs too fast; in DosBox, it runs too slow and jerky :(Any ideas how to fix this? I know there are ways of decreasing the overall PC performance via tweaking bios etc., but I generally don't like this way.For reference, I've got a 1,2 GHz Pentium IV with 256 Mb RAM and 64 Mb vRAM.
gunner154 Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Have you the latest version of DosBox? It was 0.65 the last time I checked it.And you do know you can edit the speed in Dosbox?
MrFlibble Posted May 21, 2006 Author Posted May 21, 2006 Yeah, I've managed to edit the cpu core/cycles/frameskip/cd acces parameters in dosBox so that the game is quite playable, yet still it is somewhat slow... Maybe I should edit the graphics output parameter? ???Despite maximizing the availiable RAM and cpu cycles, I'm experiencing frequent FPS drops, which leads me to think the graphics card dosBox emulates isn't powerful enough ??? What do you think?BTW, maybe there's a Pentium 166 with 32 Mb RAM and 8 Mb vRAM emulator I don't know of? Could come in handy... ::)EDIT: I have tried Mo'Slo, and it seems to work fine.
