couple of questions

Hi everybody

So i got this game 2 weeks ago, and been playing the atreides campain and i've gone quite a bit into other houses territory. Can you help a newbie some questions ?

1. Now in one of the missions i have to defend against the ordos and Tleilaxu. The problem is there's no enemy base to destroy this time, and I have just been defending the base( the enemy troops come out of nowhere, i can see their harvesters and carryls too, but no base), what is suppose to happen exactly ? been waiting for a while now.

2. How do i use Hawk strike ? I've built a atradies palace, but the hawk strike icon is greyed out with 'on hold' marked on it. clicking does nothing

3. What's this "T is -4 , T is -3, T is -2", that shows up in upper left corner  ?

Hi,

I'll try to answer your questions:

1. Make sure you have scouted the whole map, maybe you haven't discovered the base yet. If there's no base still, there is a possibility the base was destroyed by a third party (check the mission briefing for such a possibility). Finally, you can restart the level and try it another time.

2. Most probably you're low on power, so the superweapon doesn't charge. Try building a couple of windtraps, a palace eats up quite a lot of power.

3. "T minus..." is the time remaining until the frigate arrives into your starport. (countdown begins from 10, I suppose ???)

What might be confusing is that when you are on low power your radar doesn't work anymore. But you can still see the land you have discovered, but not any units or buildings. So if you can't seem to find the enemy base while searching on the mini-map then that might be the problem.

MrFibble, Timmen : It turned out the area where the base was greyed out by only a bit (no black cloud over it), so i assumed it was already explored. I passed the mission :), btw the hawk strike works now, once i got enough power.

DelugeD: Do you know how to enter an already setup game ? I often connect to the server and see ppl in buddy list, but no game. BTW campain game on medium is not that bad :D.

Just page them from the buddy page, Most likely they are already in a game. that is what is great about ra server, everyone is your buddy. Just a big happy family.  I havent ben playin games lately, but  since the basketball season is winding down, ill be on alot more, soon as playoffs are over or Pacers are out.  or Sacremento. still a big Brad miller fan
