as far as I can remember we have had that question once. and as far as I can remember there was no possibility to change it. sucks especially if you want to play harkonnen imo.

You can change it. There are mods who change the colors you can pick in skirmish but they change more to the game then that alone.

But you can do it yourself quite easily:

First download the ArtIni.txt from here:

http://dune2k.com/?page=files-emperor&show=mods

Open the file, and scroll down a bit until you find these lines:

Side (0);
Recolor (0,133, 226);

Side (1);
Recolor (175,36,22);

Note that the default color you get in skirmish is the color shown at "Side (0);" and that the color the AI picks is always the color shown at "Side (1)"

So if you want to have the color red, and want to give the AI the color blue swap the two lines with "Recolor" in it, like this:

Side (0);
Recolor (175,36,22);

Side (1);
        Recolor (0,133, 226);

Now you are done, save the file somewhere and open up the windows explorer.

Go to your Emperor folder, and into the data folder.

There create a new folder named "model"

Put the ArtIni.txt file you saved earlier in that folder, and start Emperor.

Start a new skirmish game and you'll notice that it appears like nothing has changed, but continue anyway. Pick blue as your color, and the AI will seem to have the color red. Now start the game, and you'll notice that you yourself will have the color red, and the AI the color blue.

To undo this color change, just remove the ArtIni.txt file from the datamodel folder.

(The change you have made will only affect these 2 colors, and nothing else)
