Emperor won't play/install

This morning, I played emperor and I ran normal.

This afternoon however, It only loads the loading screen and stops.

I tried uninstalling and installing (for some reason autoplay does not respond???)

It only shows the loading screen and stops.

What did I do wrong.

*waves wtf flag*

It's not my dvd player by the way, because all my other cd-roms/dvd do work normally.

Help me!! :'(

Use system restore to go back a few days ? Assuming you have XP with sys res enabled.

Try the No-CD Patch, make sure your drivers are all up to date.

Failing all that totally remove the game, then delete the folder. Try reinstalling with Install fix.

Can you list what you actually tried ? Its hard to suggest things when I am not shure what you have tried, what happaned and what else we can try...

I deleted the westwood folder. I used system restore four times. All attempts failed.

I fail to see how a no cd patch will help, seeing as I cannot install the game without the cd-rom. :O

(Hello All Emperor Fans, old friends, and may be future ones  ;))

I had exactly the same pb  >:(. The game was working fine two mounths ago... Today, i wanted to play a lan with a friend, and it was impossible  :O !!! loading screen... and nothing more.  :(

As u, i had uninstall the game... with no possibilty to reinstall.  :'(

BUT : The Install Fix worked great ! Installation starts easily, and the new exe file works great !

Now I can play... may be u have missed something ?

Do me a favor and explain exactly what I must do to get the same results as you.

It has been months since I had the pleasure of crushing ordos and atreides with my Harkonnen  :'(

Why, he followed my shexy and most excellent instructions, of course :P

Sounds like he used the Install Fix and it worked for him.

I fixed it. I formatted my and reinstalles winxp

It turned out to be a virus blocking the program. >_<

But all is well now. ;D
