I just scanned and deleted some virus' on my computer. One was called "Dominador" and it is a trojan that allows a person to control a computer remotely. I deleted it and cleaned my whole computer. I am just scared of identity theft. I dont have any credit card or social security numbers on my computer, but can someone steal your identity with an IP address? help guys, and sorry for whining all the time, its just that this virus stuff really scares me for some reason.

No one can steal your identity with your IP address. But with your IP address they can attack you if your computer is not protected against direct attacks.

Are you on dialup? Cause your IP changes everytime you go online, so you would be safe that way, although the person could dailup to the internet if they got your logon information and use your hours.

Although I wouldn't be afraid.

One night my friend got hacked and the hacker typed up a message on the computer and printed it off my his printer. :P

most internet providers don't even give you a dedicated IP address.

If you are that scared I would suggest you to buy a router. Keeps most trojans away.
