Have you got all the latest drivers for you computer ? A lot of these problems can be becuase of drivers and that should be a first step if you havent already updated them.

Can you post your dxdiag file here so we can take a look. Also, do you have Norton AntiVirus (NAV) installed ?

To run dxdiag, go to Start button, click Run, type "dxdiag", Save info. Then attach it here (find attach under additional options on left).
