Theology of Arda (LOTR stuff)

I think I finally have a very basic idea about this, tlel me what you guys think of those who know the universe well, would be a big help. :)

(by the way the majority of this came from the Silmarillion)

Okay, Iluvatar created the race of the Valar as guardians of Arda (the circle of earth where Valinor and Endor (middle earth) dwell. In his creation of the Valar and Arda, the Valar were responsible for the foundations of Arda and it's growth. Melkor or Morgoth who was one of the Valar became independant of Iluvatar's will and by his malice he began to taint middle earth towards his likings because of his great desire to control the Secret Fire in the depths of middle earth.

THe Valar knew though that they were forming middle earth for the needs of two races that were to come for the sake of Iluvatar's plans, though not even the Valar knew exactly what those plans were. Iluvatar himself said that the Valar would be told at the end of the ages when the earth would be sundered and remade.

Anyways the First Born, or the Quenta were the elves. And they were inseperably connected to Arda. Because of this they had souls that could never die, and if an elf could avoid a killing blow, or great sadness of heart, their bodies would not die either. If their bodies did die they would go to the Halls of Waiting, till they themselves would know their true plan during the second creation of Arda. Many elves stayed in middle earth when some of the Valar wished to protect the elves from Melkor, but some later by greed and strife for the Silmarils and other reasons left Valinor and back to middle earth where they came from. The Valar did not fully forget the elves though, and much later a "straight" path was found that could take them back to Valinor, to an island set to themselves as a sort of penitence, called Eressia. Those that stayed faithful to the Valar though stayed on the main contenant of Valinor and would never know death (except for the Great Kin Strife when the unfaithful left valinor many ages past).

In the end though those that were unfaithful had many deaths, but some survived and went back to middle earth near the end of the ancient ages (end of the third age and a little into the fourth age).

The Edain, or the humans were the second peoples, and came from nearly the same place in the far east many ages ago. They never came to valinor though as it was not in Iluvatar's plans. They desired to though, and that is one of the major theories why many houses of men traveled west after their creation. Melkor dispised all races created by Iluvatar, and tried to destroy and taint mankind. Some of the houses successfully came to the far west of middle earth though under havens of sympathetic Elves. After the first age, some of the Three Houses of Men who were blessed, were given an island in between middle earth and Valinor, though the island was a little closer to valinor and could slightly see even to Eressia. Here is where Elros the Half Elven chose mortality and became the first king of the Numenorians. Anyways after their strength became great and much things happened during that second age, they began to travel to middle earth and to the great seas, but they began to fear death as a fact that the elves and men for many many years knew that mankind was not mortal, and that their spirits left the circles of the earth beyond even Valinor. At the beginning this was called the Blessing of Man, but later because of much strife by Melkor, mankind began to fear their fate and called ti the Curse of Man.

Because of this many began to fear that their death would just lead to nothingness, and they longed for immortality. Anyways there is a great story where the elves still in middle earth were suffering from Melkor's leutenant, Sauron, and how he was threatening to kill all that was good in middle earth. The Numenorians came and saved the day, and took Sauron Hostage on their island of Numenor. Anyways after years of sauron tainting man even further, the numenorians tried to invade valinor and the large majority of the numenorians died by the hand of iluvatar. THeir fate is unknown, but undoubtedly what awaits them is Good, and it says taht they do indeed have a purpose after the second creation of Arda, so they do not just leave forever into oblivion.

Ill write more, and talk about the fate of the Dwarves, and where they go after they die, what do you guys think?

to be continued...

... lol

caid, this is a fictional theology, and because of that I personalyl dont think it mixes in PRP. Also This is not fan fiction, as it comes from fiction that I have not written, and not only that but the ideas are probably not new to me anyway, and dont even constitute any sort of story. It was rather vague, and sheesh you sound kinda pushy man.lolĀ  :O

About fiction and theology we can discuss more, and you will always find someone telling you that your own theology is based on a fiction. Tolkien here put his own philosophic thinking, and that doesn't change a fact because it is set into fictional universe and he himself was no educated philosopher.
