I'm not saying why celecrate the storming of bastille but rather why is the french revolution praised on this thread? It only created more turmoil and during the 1800s alone france went through over 5 governments and an estimated 100,000+ dead (from the great terror solely I guess)

The price of freedom can be high sometimes. The Swedish government didn't, for example, rise up against it's own kings, because as they could see from the French revolution, same thing would happen sooner or later. The king gradually lost his power, while the government gained power. I think many other countries did this too. Once the example was set, people realized it.
