I've never watched this Fox News (we don't get it here, which seems a blessing), so I can't really comment. Are there any news channels that are obviously left-biased?

America doesn't have a Left. As far as I can see, American politics is divided into the Center-Right (Democrats) and the Far Right (Republicans).

That being said, however, some conservatives always complain about the so-called "liberal media", without ever going into details (who is liberal and how are they liberal?). Of course, their definition of "liberal" means "anything left of Mussolini"...

For the most part true.  Whenever I hear "The Liberal Media" I think of Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, and Hannity and I begin to laugh.  The Democrats are as left as we go major party wise.

Although Edric you must look at American histoy to understand why we seem to be Center and Far Right for our major parties.  They used to be a single party named the Democratic Republicans, but they split.  Most of the major points are the same.

damn teacher's union. Frankly anybody can bash them as i cant stand them.

but yeah you got your point across, I dont think any normal person can respect fox news. beh..

Hannity also has his own talk radio show right after Rush Limbaugh on the station I listen to.  He frequently plugs Hannity and Colmes on it.

oh dont get me started on Sean Hannity. Good grief he never lets anybody speak, he is a horrible debater. He reminds me a lot of osme people on this site. I mean almost identical to some of them. They constantly talk over people and bring up things in the past that are irrelavent, using straw-man arguments. Then if you say that you wont answer his questions he will say that he wins. You cant argue with him, and that is not complimenting him, that is saying he is an arrogant ass.lol

We agree on that hopefully Dan. hehe because beh, hate it. I like Colmes, he is fair and very polite, and he is his own man. He will disagree with the democrats when he feels they are out of line, and is one who really does love america. I respect him a lot.

Hannity can go climb a flag pole for all I care.lol

and why are you assuming that since I said I dont like the teacher's union, that I am for the no child left behind act??? that is just a huge assumption that makes a fool out of you. I mean it would be like me saying I am a christian, than you saying "so you agreed with the inquasition!!!??" lol of course not! so dont assume that. I just dont like them because they are in it for themselves. Look at themarysville strike in washington state. They had a strike that lasted months. Most of the parents got sick of it and even the government officials were on the side of the courts, including our governer who is a democrat. They are way out of line, they dont think about the students, they are afraid of giving tests to their teachers. They are hipocrites who have way too much power and sway. They are the perfect example of how unions become obsolete in these times.

Woah, sorry.  There are a lot of people who do like it (just becuase of the name, without actually knowing what it entails).  I didn't mean to insult/offend/anger you.

It's all good.  I know this is off-topic, but my mom works at a public school and no one (not the arch-conservatives, not the lefties, and not the moderates) likes the no child left behind act; it is EXTREMELY disruptive for teachers and administrators both (teacher accountability=bad idea[mostly]).

hmm I agree to a point, but I do believe you know some of the tests that have been done to trouble spots in america, and you would be suprised how bad many american teachers are. It isnt just in a vacuum too, I mean it is an epidemic. I dont like the act, but at the same time I believe that testing for the teachers is good. I mean the students are tested, and teachers should be as well to find if they are good enough to teach their students and give students tests that tehy could actually pass. I agree with the testing, I just disagree with what the bill says to do to teachers who fail, or what happens to failing schools. It is indeed way too drastic, and costs money and jobs. The public school system shouldnt be abandoned with things like vouchers, but should be renovated. It isnt that easy, but all things important and good are usually hard to achieve. The teachers union too has way too much sway, and instead of the government being the enemy that workers should fear, it is turning into fellow workers apart of unions. Many unions these days have turned from hunted to hunters, and are soemtimes downright mean, like bullies. It is just sad.

Hannity heh.  See my point on the Dems poisoning the minds of the Republicans of the Committee?  Yesterday he was going on about how the Republicans should stop trying to play friends with the Democrats, and trying to please them.  Really the longer he went on, the more I expected conspiracy theories or "Sieg Heils".

Fair enough; teacher's unions have become too strong.  It is impossible to fire a bad teacher (I had one who almost never communicated with the class...he just sat in the back and started at his pc), but on the other hand some of my favorite teachers have been unpopular, so how do you detect a failing teacher?  Students from poorer communities/inner city areas generally do worse on standardized tests than students from wealthier areas.  That does not mean all of the good teachers are at rich schools; school accountability, as it exists now, is a bad idea.
