I assume from your post you've already completed your map to your satisfaction?

To clear things up, what you have to realize is that the .dme file is NOT the actual map, it's simply the design or template for the map that the editor uses to build the map. It doesn't matter where you save the .dme file, although I would suggest you save it somewhere where you can keep it safe and where you can access it easily.

To build your map, simply launch the DuneMapEditor and open up the .dme file (in your case, this would be dune.dme). Now, select the 'Map' menu within the editor, then select 'Build Map'. Wait while the editor performs the steps to build the map. When the editor has finished building the map, you'll be presented with a dialog box displaying information about the map.

At this stage, if you have any ERRORS in your map, you've done something wrong and will have to go back and fix it, otherwise your map has now been built. The DuneMapEditor will automatically create a folder called 'Maps' in the EmperorData directory, and place the relevant files and folders in there. Provided that you already have Emperor installed, you won't need to worry about saving the map to any specific location, the DuneMapEditor takes care of that for you.

That's the basics completed. You could go and create a thumbnail, then add a colourwash and compress the colourwash to make the map look nice, but the map has been saved at this stage, and should be functional. All you have to do is go and launch Emperor now, and your map should appear in the list of maps to choose from.

I have done all as you has said, but in list maps no my map ...

how much must be a files in directory mapsdune (my map)?

If you've built your map, and if you haven't applied a colourwash to it, you should see the following files in your EmperorDataMaps(yourmapname) directory:

test.tga

test.xbf

When setting up a skirmish game, check if any map names in the list where you choose a map to play on, are all in CAPITAL LETTERS.

I don't understand what you meant by:

but test.tga some washed away(in open variant)

Perhaps you'd like to send me the .dme file for your map, and I'll see if I can compile and run it? Otherwise, I have no idea what could be wrong.
