I was mowing my Grandmother's yard when I took a break.  I'd been at it an hour on a steep hill in 80+ degrees Farenheit weather, and heard on the TV "We have breaking news". Breaking=Bad...always. So I settle in, flip on the fan and hear "George Tenet, Director of the Central Intelligence Agency has resigned for personal reasons". I just sat in a state of semi-shock, no Cabinet member had ever resigned in my lifetime.

*raises pepsi glass*

To you Director Tenet, you did your job as Bush's fall man. I salute your years of loyalty to whomever you served, be they Democrat or Republican. Bipartisanship and loyalty of your level is rarely seen in modern times.

This is not an occasion for cheers. Something is horribly wrong with the American government, and this is simply the result.

Tenet has taken a lot of guff in this administration; he appears to be either incredibly dishonest or an oft-used scapegoat.  Look at the litany of things he's allegedly screwed up:

http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/06/03/tenet.resigns/index.html

  • 9/11
  • WMD (Colin Powell's info was "deliberately misleading")
  • "A slam-dunk"
  • African uranium

If he truly was at fault, it's worrying that the man just couldn't get these things right.  If not, it's worrying that the Administration chose him as a fall guy.  Guess the President will need to create more "plausible deniability."

I merely cheer his devotion, not his fall.  As for our government, all governments inherently become power thirsty and corrupt.  Especially when run by millionaires.

Especially when run by millionaires.

Is there any one corporation or government on this planet which is not runned by millionaires?

Actually I believe there is.  You see despite frequen claims, Vatican City is not the world's smallest city-state.  There's another one that is smaller inside Rome run by some old order of knights.  I don't believe they're millionaires now.

Ah, you mean a cooperative way of getting things going!

actually george w bush jr was not always a millionare, especially after the failure of some business' in texas. For awhile there he really didnt make much money at all.

But yeah you are pretty much correct, many powerful players in politics are usually powerful because of their money, and that is pretty darn sad.
