Cannot Play Dune.... Spawned Game?!?1

I start up dune 2000 and attempt to load my saved game and get the error

"cannot play spawned game...restart with cd"

CD IS ALLREADY IN!! it works sometimes and others not ! 9/10 it doesnt! A dodgy cd drive? probably  >:(

Thanks for all the lovely replies! I managed to sort yet another problem out with no help...the resource cfg file had been altered to read the wrong cd drive...thanks for the suggestions i couldnt have done it without you!  >:(

please help!! i have the same problem to. :(

You don't have the proper disk in or its been damaged and is no longer properly readable. You need to patch your copy of the game to not use a CD. I suggest just getting the Gruntmods Edition as it will not only include the no CD patch but also numerous other improvements.
