 Dispute between the Israelis and the Palestinians

 Started in 1960 with the first Intifada

 Palestinians want the two small pieces of land known as the Gaza strip and the West Bank as their own independent countries

 Palestinians have the support from several neighboring Arab countries such has Syria, Jordan, Egypt and the former Iraqi regime under Saddam Hussein.

 In the early 1990s Saddam Hussein launched 42 scud missiles at Israel

 Saddam Hussein was rumored to have sent up to $20,000 to the families of the suicide bombers

 Israel has been involved in six wars, three of which were started by Israel

 Several terrorist groups such as the PLO, Hamas, PFLP, Hezbollah and the Palestine Islamic Jihad have fought for an independent Palestine through the means of terrorism.

 Between September 2000 and December 2002 over 2,000 Palestinians and 700 Israelis have been killed.

 The most commonly used tactic by the Palestinian terrorists are suicide bombers

 To combat the surge in terrorist attacks the Israeli government has started construction on a large wall surrounding the territories of conflict

 The most recent attack was March 15, 2004 in the Israeli port city of Ashdod
