God of illusion in Hindu pantheon, Mara is many times considered as giver of light, brightness to our world. However, buddhists have him as a dark seducer of Sidharta, their teacher Buddha. They consider Mara as a dark power, which seduces us from the golden path trough his illusions, the mattery, as well as contrateachings, which may lie to you trough fact, that they proclaim themselves as the only true. What do you think of Mara's concept, is it good or evil force? Or do you see any possible applications of it for other religions?

mara is also mentioned with use of various mushrooms and oils that came from plants like cannabis...

You are being way too one dimensional caid, it isnt whether the force is good or evil in philiosophy, but whether which philosophy thinks its good, and which thinks its evil. See not every group will see it the same.

the buddha was focusing on a straight and narrow path. One that focused on abstinance from anything that took one's self off the path to enlightenment. Things like sex (monks couldnt have sex, families could though for teh same of propagation, nothing else) and rich living. Suprisingly, while drugs are looked down upon by most buddhists, there are certain sects that teach enlightenment through psychodelics.

Mara wasn't a sun god, those were many others. But that doesn't matter much. Mara gave to the world colors, all those aspects of light only human can sense. I am just interested, how you do look on this god, what's the first what you have on mind when you think about it.

Also golden path of Buddha isn't pure ascesy. Sidharta tried it for a long time, but that's what his path is about: seeking a balance between what we should have and what not.
