Mandy Moore: A collection of absolutely amazing songs??

Good grief! my sister got the new mandy moore cd expecting the typical bubble gum pop (which at times I must shamefully say I like some of them.)

Well she hated it, but I heard it and was blown away! You have songs like WHole of the Moon, and Senses working Overtime.

songs from bands like elton john, and cat stevens, and many others of the sort...

A lot of these songs are obscure, and are enjoyed by oddballs of music fans. A lot of them are unsung heroes of pop music that I have loved for awhile, and the best thing is she did these remakes wonderfully! They are fresh and different, but arent like the "I love rock and roll" that brittany speares did. These actually have meaning and are great homages of the musicians and music she took. I highly suggest this CD for any of you that like a different and progressive taste.

here is a review from a site I go to a lot for music reviews. These guys are known for their love of obscure and really "hip" bands, they love radiohead, which is one of my favorite groups. These guys grudgingly said that this cd is wonderful, and were mystified by it.

It is just really neat to see a pop singer with good taste and intelligence in music. She is also very down to earth, and a great actor!

I used to love Mandy Moore. :) I started following her ever since she released her first song: 'Candy'. I got every single CD single she released, and her two albums. Then I listened to snippets from her new album 'Coverage', and was shocked. I didn't like it enough to buy it :(, and I fear that Mandy Moore is going country instead of pop now. =P

Don't get me wrong, I still like her and pay attention to movies/music that she releases/has a role in, but I don't like her as much as I used to.

The album is a bunch of song remakes from 70s and 80s pop stars. A lot of good and obscure songs that she remakes wonderfully. The reaction to it has been like that though, many people dont like this album, some say it is because she is no longer doing the same pop (which isnt true), and others say, usually the type of fans that like the underground stuff, that she is moving on to more intelligent stuff.
