Well I was fooling around with my BIOS, I found something called CPU Multiplier, it's current setting was at 8, so I then changed it to 10 (it could go up to around 30 or so) Just wondering what this does. also I can not seem to find this option anymore.

It also said in my BIOS that my video preference thing was PCI, although I always thought I had AGP. (so I changed it at the same time as my other problem but have since changed it back)

I thought I was supposed to be able to change my video ram amount to be hgiher than it is already set at, but can't find it.[attachment archived by Gobalopper]

With the CPU multiplier you can overclock your processor, increasing it's megahertz. My multiplier is now for instance at 1.33 and my total mhz is 1330. If i were able to set the multiplier to let's say 1.6 then my speed in mhz would be 1600. However, though this might be an acceptible option if you computer is old and slow, i would not do it when everything runs fine. As if you overclock it too much, you might make your system unstable, or worse (i don't know if this is still possible on the new computers) actually cook the processor

Most important thing with overclocking => MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH AIRFLOW !!

Apart from that, only changing the CPU multiplyer will not have any great effect on anything. You need/want/should also change the voltage and memory settings... There's way more involved then most of you think..

yeah, you are right. Although, some motherboards (like my old K6) had this automatically. If i changed the cpu multiplyer, the voltage settings etc. would atomatically change with them.

You see that's the problem, I looked and it is not there anymore.

Although if I were to reset my BIOS settings, maybe that would get it back.

But I only changed it from 8X to 10X and I think it went up to 32X or so. So maybe it wont be a problem.

Going back to factory default may change settings you don't wish to. What BIOS do you have (when you boot up your PC, it should be on top of the first screen, or go into your BIOS and read it from there) ?
